It’s truly going to be “Christmas In July’” at this shop. Along with our annual Christmas sale, I’m doing two Christmas card classes this month. Thanks to the kudos from participants who took my last Christmas card class, I’m super charged to come up with new designs for the July 14th class.
A definite bonus to this month is, of course, Jen Starr who will be here on July 13th. I’m counting the days! Her classes are filling up, so don’t wait too much longer to sign up! Consider taking her classes as a present to yourself.
I’ve been a horse lover since I can remember, so I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to add horse images to our stamp line, but finally, they’re here, along with horse related designs and sayings. Yes, more animal images are forthcoming...penguins, just in time for the holiday cards.
Check out the Christmas stocking made by Ardis Holt that’s on display in the shop. This beautiful handcrafted stocking is decorated with poinsettias cut with the Spellbinder dies. Ardis adhered fusible webbing to the cloth before cutting it with the dies--easy as cutting paper die cuts. Think of all the ways that you can decorate your quilts, shirts, bags, and more with fabric die cuts. If you’re not into sewing, then you might want to purchase one of these stockings - extremely well-made.

WE’VE ADDED MORE IMAGES TO OUR STAMP LINE
Horses, horses, and more horses. We have a plate of horses, horse sayings/poems, and some accessories (i.e. horse shoes). During the month of July, 25% off unmounteds, mounteds, and entire unmounted sheet. Inquire for specifics.
USED BRAYERS FOR SALE
A friend, who used to teach classes, dropped off 6 used brayers that she no longer needs. Great deals. A new brayer costs at least $16. These, while used, are in very good condition. $6 - $7.75 each depending on size.

*The Scor-Buddy has just arrived. This device was designed for card makers and has
grooves every 1/4" across the board, plus 1/8" grooves for the first and last inch of the
board. It measures approx. 9" x 7.5" and comes with its own carry tote.

11am - 2pm GRUNGY GREETINGS $30
Customize your greetings in the full range of new Distress Ink colors while working with Grungeboard, new Stampers Anonymous stamps and the new Alterations Sizzix dies from Tim Holtz! Make four 6x6" cards in your choice of colors using these fabulous new designs and some fun inky techniques.
3pm - 6pm STUDIO STYLE CARDS $30
The creative possibilities when using paints are endless! Using Claudine Hellmuth's Studio Line from Ranger we will create 4 gorgeous 6x6" cards while you learn techniques using gesso, multi-mediums, acrylic paint and Sticky Back Canvas. Additionally, we will alter some elements from the new line of Sizzix dies from Tim Holtz!
7pm - 10pm GLAZE, GLIMMER & GLAM!! $40
Explore the shimmery world of Tattered Angels in this technique-based workshop. Using Glimmer Mist and the new Glimmer Glam and Glimmer Glaze we'll work on a variety of surfaces such as paper, acrylic, metal, embossed chipboard and more to achieve fabulous effects for all your crafting projects. You'll learn the basics and new fun techniques such as tinted photo transfers, translucent embossing, wax resists, frozen Glam and so much more!! Additional Tattered Angels products covered will be Glimmer Screens and coordinating acrylic stamps, Glimmer Glass, Chip Tiles, Framed Fonts, Chalkboard Mists and some of the new releases from Heidi Swapp.
The finished project can be used as a technique reference book with written instructions for each technique on the backs of each page or keep the instructions separate and turn it in to a mini-book! The possibilities are endless.
Please bring to class a 1" flat paint brush plus a smaller brush for more details and a toner-based (LASER) photocopy of a photo on regular copy paper.

From 7/13 - 7/20, different design team members will be showing ways to use the upcoming new releases. Plus, each day, you can submit your e-mail address to win one of the new dies. SCRAPBOOKING FOR HOPE - SEPTEMBER 25TH AT THE AUGUSTA ARMORY

TIPS AND TECHNIQUES: CREATING A “MOTTLED” LOOK
1. Stamp Your Image: Stamp image on matte paper. If using a dye ink, I recommend a waterproof ink. Heat set to make sure that it’s dry. You can also
heat emboss for a raised image.
2. Apply Ink Color Background to Image: Using a dye ink - very wet
(i.e. Vivid, Big and Juicy, etc.), rub the ink pad across the paper. You can also use a brayer to apply the ink.
3. While ink is wet, spritz “lightly” with a light color (Memories Mists, Glimmer Mists, etc.) You can use more than one color working from light to dark. When spraying, let the ink just fall or mist over the card design. Spray from about 1 foot away. FYI: I generally put my card inside a cardboard box tipped on its side. That way I contain the spray.
4. For “Mottled” Look to Appear: Immediately after misting, dry with a heat tool. Note the “mottled” look.

July 21st, (Wed.), 6:30pm - 8:30pm DISTINCT IMPRESSIONS MEETING
This is for individuals who want to come together to create, share ideas, and just have fun. There is no fee. Participants are responsible for their own supplies and willing to teach/facilitate a crafting/stamping/scrapbooking session (about once every 6 weeks).
Feel free to come for a visit just to see what we do. Call to reserve a seat.

July 24th, (Sat.), 10am - 11am FREE QUILLING MAKE AND TAKES
Quilling, also known as paper filigree, has been around for about 500 years. You can do it totally with your fingers, glue, and paper strips or with the use of some inexpensive tools. Come and play. As a result, you might decide to continue on your own or take the beginner’s class. Participants will leave with a finished card/tag.

Different cards not made in previous classes. Quick and easy cards, for the most part, but will incorporate variety of techniques and new products.

Get two in one with this class. Make this incredible mini album which can house
19 plus photos and the coordinating double slider card. You can go with a Christmas theme or not, your choice. Bring your favorite photos, and we’ll go to town. I love this project and do believe this is going to be one of my favorite classes to teach. You’ll leave with directions to make more on your own.

July 31st, (Sat.), 1pm - 3:30pm TRI SHUTTER MINI ALBUM AND CARD Cost: $15
Another two-in-one class. Make both the mini album and a coordinating tri shutter card - rich looking 3D projects. Bring some photos to decorate the album. Otherwise, we supply all the materials. You’ll also leave with directions to make more on your own.
