CLASSES ….CLASSES….AND MORE CLASSES
Classes usually run 2 - 2 1/2 hours and supplies are generally provided.

Prepayment is recommended to assure a space for you. No refunds unless someone takes your place. 15% discount on purchases made the day of the class (excluding specially marked items).

Coffee, tea, and/or soda will be available. If you are interested in having a class at a different date and time, contact us. Home parties, home classes and children’s classes can be arranged.

 

 

May 3rd (Wed.)          1pm - 3pm     REVERSE IRIS FOLDING          Cost: $15

    Pat Byther has mastered this technique and is excited about teaching it.  If you like the iris folding technique, then I do believe that you'll enjoy this unique "twist" on iris folding.  Participants will need to bring seven 4 x 6 inch photocopies (either colored or black and white) of the same image or seven 4 x 6 inch pattern paper (the same pattern).  Bring a second set of photocopies should there be time to do another project.
    Please bring, if possible, an X-acto knife, ruler, and cutting mat.

May 6th (Sat.)         9:30am - Noon     FAUX DICHRO - TIM HOLTZ STYLE          Cost: $15

    Art Glass, embossing foil, alcohol inks, and UTEE result in imitation dichroic glass jewelry.  Compare the faux dichro to the "real thing" and be impressed with what you've created.  Plan to create at least 3 finished pins and/or pendants.

May 6th (Sat.)          1pm - 3:30pm     FOUR SPECIAL OCCASION CARDS          Cost: $10

    Create Mother's Day, Father's Day, and/or birthday cards.  We'll incorporate brads, eyelets, punches, die cuts, ribbons, and more.  Work with a variety of tools and styles of stamps.

May 13th (Sat.)          9:30am - Noon     QUILLING SESSION          Cost: Free

   This is not a class (However, you do get 15% off any supplies purchased that day.).  Rather, it is a time to share quilling ideas with others while working on your quilling project.  Each person is to bring his/her quilling tools and materials.  Call to reserve a space.

May 13th (Sat)          1pm - 3:30pm     BEGINNER'S QUILLING CLASS          Cost: $15

    Learn the basic quilling shapes that are the foundation for most designs.  Plus, learn to use several tools, including the fringer.

May 15th (Mon).              THERESA WINTERS' STENCILING CLASSES          Cost: $15/class

    Refer to the article for times, etc.

May 17th (Wed.)         1pm - 3:30pm     INTERMEDIATE QUILLING:  HUSKING          Cost: $15

     Under Pat Nesbit's guidance, participants will learn the husking technique and make at least two cards.  This class has been very well-received and is a definite must for any quiller.

May 19th (Fri.)          6 - 8pm     CREATING ON STAMPBORDS          Cost: $1

    Stampbord is an absorbent, clay-coated wood surface that allows you to stamp the image and then scratch back into that image to create details and highlights.  Stampboards come in a variety of sizes so you can work on one large masterpiece (approx. 5 x 7 inches) or several smaller projects.

May 20th (Sat.)          9:30am - Noon      FOR QUILLERS:  BRAIDS AND BASKETS          Cost: $15

    For quillers who want to add another technique to their repertoire.  Pat Nesbit is the  technique called plaiting, a form of weaving.  Plan to create at least 2 cards or embellishments for a scrapbook page.

May 20th (Sat.)         1pm - 3:30pm     THREE STRAND NECKLACE          Cost: $25

     Participants can duplicate the sample designed for this class or create his/her own design.  All supplies will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their  "special" beads.

May 27th (Sat.)          10am - Noon     MAKE AND TAKES          Cost: Free

    Participants will be using various materials and stamps and/or stencils to create some quick and easy cards, tags, and/or scrapbook pages.  This is an excellent opportunity to try out the products while learning some "tips and techniques."

May 27th (Sat.)         1pm - 4pm     TIME FOR SELF          Cost: Free

     Start off Memorial Day Weekend with a few hours of creating, relaxing, and socializing.  Bring your supplies and projects to work in the company of others.  Great opportunity to be inspired and to socialize.

June 2nd (Fri.)         6 - 8pm     CARVE YOUR OWN STAMPS          Cost: $15

    Learn the ins and outs of carving your own stamps out of eraser-like material specially designed for this project.  These stamps will be one of a kind and will be long lasting.  Plan to create 2 to 4 stamps.

June 3rd (Sat)         3pm - 5pm     BEGINNER'S STAMPING CLASS          Cost: Free

    For the individual who has never taken a stamping class.  Learn the basics from different ways of coloring stamps to  using embossing powders.  Participants will also work with tools including, but not limited to the stamp positioner, brayer, heat tool, texture tools, Scor-it, punches, unmounted stamps and more.  All supplies provided, but feel free to bring stamps from your collection.

June 10th (Sat.)          2:30pm - 4:30pm     FOR QUILLERS: BRAIDS AND BASKETS          Cost: $15

    Pat Nesbit is repeating this quilling class should you have missed the previous offering.  She'll be teaching   quilling technique called plaiting, a form of weaving.  Plan to create at least 2 cards or embellishments for a scrapbook page.

June 17th (Sat.)          9:30 - Noon     DECORATIVE ORIGAMI BALL          Cost: $15

    When Joyce Thompson offered this class last April, participants had so much fun and even had time to start on another ball.  Once you have the basics, you can create jewelry pieces or Christmas decorations.  Put a bell on the inside and add some beads.  Voila, quite the decoration. Check out the shop sample.

June 17th (Sat.)          1pm - 3:30pm     MATTED QUILLED FLOWER          Cost: $15

     Pat Nesbit will be leading participants through the process of creating a quilled masterpiece ready for framing.  Participants will have the choice of creating a Bearded Iris or another flower and mounting it on a 3-D mat.  The flower can be framed or used on an album cover to be treasured for many years.  Check out shop samples.

June 24th (Sat.)          2pm - 4:30pm     FREE BEGINNER'S SCRAPBOOKING CLASS          Cost: Free

     This class is designed for the person who has never taken a scrapbooking class.  Bring at least 8 - 10 photos.  Learn some basic layouts and use a variety of tools while completing 2 scrapbook pages.  Hopefully, participants will feel inspired and confident to continue on their own.
